Question
For the second part of your initial post, identify the most effective leader with whom you've worked and the least effective leader with whom you've worked. Then, jot down a list of each leader's characteristics, including their enduring traits, task- and person-oriented behaviors, and skills as well as the nature and quality of their relationships with their followers. Finally, compare the two lists and answer the following questions
1. What do you notice about the two lists? Are these two people leaders, managers, both, or neither? Why? How are they similar, and how are they different? How did these characteristics influence their performance and their outcomes at the individual, group, and organizational levels?
2. Which model/theory from this week's module best fits the effective leader's approach? Why? What are two strengths and two weaknesses of this model/theory?
3. Do you think it is possible to develop a positive working relationship with every follower? Why or why not? How can leaders build better relationships with the followers with whom they do not have positive working relationships?
