Case: Ursula is a mental health case manager working with Vikki, a 13-year-old girl who has been charged with shoplifting and physical assault. During initial meetings with Vikki, Ursula interviews her about her home life. It becomes apparent to Ursula that Vikki has experienced physical abuse from her father and is frequently a witness to domestic abuse. Ursula understands her legal obligations to report Vikki's situation. She is genuinely concerned about the outcome, as Vikki is close to and receives a lot of support from her mother, but Ursula knows she has to make the report to the police and let the authorities make a decision.
