Learning Activity: Strategic HRM
This learning activity has two parts:
Part A: Research strategic human resource management and identify five to seven key principles for effective strategic HRM. Ideally, look for case studies on organisations that have been successful in SHRM.
Part B: Using the principles you identified in part A, assess your own organisation or one you know well against each of these principles. What time frame is considered (three, five, ten years or more) and how comprehensive and effective is your organisations approach? What could be improved?
