Project Requirements

Working individually or as a planning team of up to 5 students, your task will be to analyse the design, implementation and evaluation of an event and document this within a professionally written report. All written material should be well developed, clear, accurate and concise.

The expectation is that you will seek out on appropriate opportunity to be actively involved in an event either as a member of the planning team, event volunteer or other appropriate capacity; and use your first hand experience to inform your analysis.

You will need to develop your analysis from the planner's perspective. You are encouraged to use your imagination in regards to the types of activities, formats, experience, age groups, etc. that you choose to pursue or align yourselves with, and to seek early auoroval from the Instructor on the nature of your event.

PART A: Program Analysis Proposal

You are required to provide the following Information prior to receiving approval and moving forward with the implementation/participation related to your event.

– Who is the organization leading your event?
– What is the intended date of your event?
– What is the intended format and venue?
– Who is the program designed for?
– What are the intended outcomes (3.5) for participants?
– What are the identified interventions you will implement in order to achieve each participant outcome?
– Provide an example of two frames (Figure 11.3) and two transitions (11.4)
– Identify the key physical risks and planned control measures
– Identify any financial requirements and available resources

PART B: Comprehensive Program Analysis
Specific guidance on the structure of the program analysis will be further discussed in class, however you are encouraged to review Ch. 13 of the core text and develop your ideas following the outline provided in Exhibit 13.1 (p. 255); you are also encouraged to meet with the Instructor often for further assessment support as needed.

Special Instructions

A minimum of S academic sources must be meaningfully Integrated Into Part B of your analysis. You may also include other material but these must be an addition and not a substitute for academic sources. Your reports (Parts A & B) must include a title page, table of contents, page numbers, a properly formatted reference list and use appropriate headings throughout.
