Purpose

In each case study, you will complete multiple parts; some case studies have two parts and some have three. Specific instructions are outlined in each case study below.

Case Study Sections

Part 1

Your response to the scenario and questions identified below should be a minimum of 200 words, but may not exceed 350 words.

A colleague of yours is being sent to India as a manager for a call center. She just told you that she feels very strongly about the following issues:

> Democratic leaders are the best leaders, because they create a more satisfied workforce.
> Employees respond best to individual-based pay incentives and bonuses as tools for motivation.
> Employees should receive peer feedback about their performance level, so that they can get a better sense of how well they are performing.

After doing some research on the business environment and national culture in India, how would you advise your colleague to behave?

Should she try to transfer these three managerial practices to the Indian context? Why or why not?

Part 2

Organizing Perceptions and Avoiding Biases Review the website below and respond to the questions. Your response should be a minimum of 200 words, but may not exceed 350 words.

3M - Science. Applied to Life. This organization dates back nearly 100 years. The company logo, 3M, is vastly known and so are its products, such as the Scotch brand. According to the executive summary, "3M is committed to continued improvement in its environmental,
safety, and health performance." (3M Science, 2017).

Examine this site. How do you see this organization's view of its responsibility to the environment?

Identify three specific accomplishments/goals this company has set that will benefit the environment. How do these affect the public opinion? Identify how 3M utilizes long-term thinking when it is in the process of development of new products.

Do you believe 3M as an organization is managing its corporate impression effectively? What other characteristics or strategies would you recommend for effective corporate impression management for 3M? Explain.

Part 3
Review the website below and respond to the questions. Your response should be a minimum of 200 words, but may not exceed 350 words.

Review the organizational behaviour (OB) in "Action Case Study: Impressions of Dalhousie Dental Grads Negatively Impacted?," found on page 61 of the textbook, Organizational Behaviour. Provide your response to the questions at the end of the case study.
