Assignment: Identify the editing styles used in the two versions of Breathless that you have seen (one from 1960 and the remake from 1983). Identify at least one example of that editing style from each film. So, for example, if you are going to state that the editing style of Breathless (1960) is "discontinuity," then you should provide a specific example of that discontinuity editing, such as the jump cuts used in the scene of Michel and Patricia in the car, driving to Patricia's meeting with her editor. (Or the breaking of the rules of continuity editing in the first scene in the film when Godard doesn't provide an establishing shot.) You can be brief(but specific!) in your description of the example. You can also be brief in your introduction and conclusion. The point is to show that a) you know the names of what the two most common editing styles are, and b) you know the names of some of the editing techniques used to express that style.
