Patient A, a 30-year-old male who is recovering postoperatively from a small bowel resection and today is reporting stomach pain.

Patient B, a 23-year-old female who is in her second postoperative day following a laparoscopic cholecystectomy. She is recovering without incident and likely will be discharged today.

Patient C, a 43-year-old female who is going into surgery shortly for a gastric bypass.

Patient D, a 72-year-old female being admitted for a hysterectomy for reasons unrelated to any cancerous or life-threatening processes.
