Case Study: Edward Gray, a 67-year-old man, was brought to the Emergency Department, by his daughter, with a wound on the left lower leg. The wound occurred due to a trauma a couple of days ago. He lives alone and was unable to leave the house due to pain and decreased mobility.

Physical examination:

  • Temperature 38.1oC
  • BMI 28.2
  • Wound on anterior left lower leg
  • Surrounding skin - red and hot to touch extending circumferentially, painful to touch and oedematous

Question: Using the above scenario complete the following two sections:
