You are the administrator of the domestic violence center, and your daily responsibilities include overseeing the work of your staff and helping to develop their skills based on the most current evidence and research. You also are responsible for directing the center's programs.
On this day, a woman named Shannon visits the center for the first time, bringing a friend with her for support. Shannon had a physical incident with a boyfriend that resulted in his arrest, and the judge referred Shannon to the center as part of the ongoing case. Rachelle, the staff member who does the intake interview, is not sure at first that Shannon qualifies for services because it appears that the incident with her boyfriend was a one-time event, and the event wasn't very serious in Rachelle's opinion.
After the interview, Rachelle wonders what services would best help Shannon. To get started, she decides to conduct research on this topic. Rachelle saves a copy of Shannon's interview to her personal laptop in a password-protected file so that she will have access to it as reference.
