Roleplay Scenario:
You work as a support worker in your neighbourhood house, which has shower and laundry facilities. During your shift, a client has locked herself up in the bathroom. Another support worker has attempted to intervene and asked her to come out, but the client has refused and has started verbally abusing your colleague. You are familiar with this client and aware that she has had a previous violent episode in your neighbourhood house, which has resulted in her being banned for a month.
The other clients are requested to leave the neighbourhood house while the situation is being managed. Eventually the client is peacefully escorted out of the premises by the police.
As you are the duty manager during that shift, you are required to run a debriefing session with your two other colleagues after the critical incident. Your colleague who experienced verbal abuse from the client has disclosed that she feels shaken up and would like to leave early for the day.
