Case: "The Organization for Development Cooperation MISEREOR was founded in 1958 by the German Catholic Bishops' Conference. As an International Development Agency, it was to support people who are ravaged by poverty and disease in the world, regardless of their religion, race and gender. The basic goal of Misereor was/is to promote development.
Effectively, compassion for people in need is the defining characteristic and motivation of MISEREOR. For funding of its projects, MISEREOR receives support primarily from its Lenten campaigns (ie. individuals) as well as from other sources, such as bequests, private sector, and endowments.
