Question: Lowenthal said that intelligence analysis is an intellectual process that is prone to error. He even suggested that the current quality of US intelligence is "as good as it gets." McDowell discussed demands and challenges associated with strategic intelligence collection and analysis. Johnson discussed major attributes that are measurable and can be used when assessing intelligence reporting. These attributes are accuracy, relevance, timeliness, comprehensiveness, readability, probability, objectivity and actionability. Johnson also discussed the five major steps in the intelligence cycle. These steps are Planning and direction, Collection, Processing, Analysis, and Dissemination. Identify and discuss at least one thing that can go wrong in each step of the intelligence cycle. Use Johnsons 8 attributes as a framework of analysis for your response.
