Question: For a group to be effective, the group leader needs a clear idea of member expectations. The expectations develop out of the purpose that the leader establishes for the group. A clear purpose is crucial no matter what type of group is being led. The first task in completing your final project for this course, a group proposal, involves selecting the type of group that you plan to design, establishing and clearly outlining the group's purpose, and identifying the group's size, length and number of the sessions, and meeting time and place.
