You are required to prepare a report to your board of directors an existing company in Mauritius and colleagues/peer group on and you will need to come up with a new product (or service if it is a service company) for the company.
In this task, you will need to identify and investigate marketing opportunities for your chosen company and finally, evaluate required changes to current operations.
The information you must cover in your report is detailed below.
1. A cover page which will include the title of the report.
2. An Executive Summary which should take the form of a brief overview of the report.
3. Introduction: You need to define the purpose of the report and what you are expecting to achieve. Discuss briefly the key information that are relevant in your context.
4. Analyse the environment of the company and its products:
- External environment (use the PESTLE)
- Internal environment (use the SWOT)
5. Identify an unmet need providing a new opportunity
6. Justify how creative and innovative the opportunity (the unmet need) is.
7. What value the opportunity (the unmet need) will bring to the company.
8. Design the marketing mix (7 p's) for the new opportunity
9. Describe your potential customer base (use the segmentation bases to describe the target market).
10. Define your organisational goals with regards to this new opportunity using the SMART approach.
