1) From the LEARN, determine which of the two primary drivers of the competitive landscape is more influential.

2) From the PRACTICE activity, identify an organization that could benefit from the application of the I/O Model of Above-Average Returns (Figure 1.2 page 15 in the textbook).

a. Follow the five steps to justify your answer.

The two primary drivers are the emergence of a global economy and technology, specially rapid technological change, are the two primary drivers of hypercompetitive environments and the nature of today's competitive landscape.

The company that can benefit from the application of the I/O Model of Above-Average Returns is Target. Target Corporation is the second-largest department store retailer in the United States, behind Walmart, and is a component of the S&P 500 Index The external environment is there number one benefit- They offer a red card which gives customers a 5% discount plus free easy returns which makes it an attractive industry because who doesn't want to save money, That formulation strategy brings customers in the door, since you're saving tremendously.
