1. Works of art that were created to express the individual artist's point of view are a relatively recent phenomenon. Explain how cultural traditions influence art making with specific examples. Describe a specific culture and/or time period, the works of art they created, the media they used, and the purpose of the artwork.

2. Artworks are rarely a purely original concept from a single artist. Compare and contrast an artwork or art movement with a past artwork/movement which may have inspired its creation. Describe both artworks/art movements in terms of its form, subject matter, and any relevant historical events.

3. Identify an art medium or art-making method and explain how it works. Then, explain how one element of art could be represented well by that medium. Repeat this for two other art mediums, for a total of three (3).

4. If you were an artist, how would you use the elements of art and principles of design to convey a concept? Write an idea and explain how you would express it as an artwork. Use specific examples of what medium you would use and how you would organize the composition.
