How do we identify a strong base that is also a weak nucleophile? Because elimination reactions prefer strong base and weak nucleophile reagents as oppose to nucleophilic substitution reaction, which prefers strong base and strong nucleophile. However, I thought basicity usually parallels with nucleophilicity. Are there any exceptions that a strong base could also be a weak nucleophile?
