Problem
The problem that would like to focus on is gun violence in the neighborhoods, due to lack of funding.
- Why is this problem important to you? Include a specific example of the problem's impact on you. You should write a complete paragraph of 5-7 sentences.
This problem is important to me personally because my husband and I were victims of gun violence and my husband passed due to his injuries. Over the last few years shootings have become more popular in my neighbor due to the lack of programs closing. The city has closed libraries, after school programs and PALS where children used to go to keep them off of the streets. Now that these establishments are closed children are being recruited by local gang members forcing them to engage in dangerous activities. Children feel like the community has given up on them and there is no future for them so they have no choice but to turn to the streets.
