Management Issue Essay

For this final assignment, I would like you to put everything you have learned! I would like you to identify a management issue at your current place of employment. If you are not currently employed, you can do a bit of research and find an issue that exists at another company.

Using the concepts that you have learned in this course, come up with a solution to this problem. This paper must be at least 5 pages in length (not including the cover and reference page). You also need to do some research. You are not an expert (not yet, anyway!), so you will need to find experts that support your ideas. An excellent paper will include at least 5 different sources (including the text). Please make sure you use the terminology from the text to explain both the problem as well as your proposed solution.

Here is the issue that I came up with that needs to be explained and resolved in the essay:

A management problem that I had at my last job was poor time management due to poor leadership. I was in a supervisory/management position over a team of four people. We were consistently under the necessary employee to task ratio to complete the daily workload with few additional tasks. I would carefully manage personnel and time in order to accomplish tasks in a timely manner. My upper management would constantly hold last minute meetings and send down extra tasks that were not more important than the ones that we had at hand, but place them in front of those tasks. It was never ending and the work section would get blamed for not completing tasks on time that came before the other tasks. I brought this issue to my supervisor numerous times and also went to the next supervisor several times, but did not get anywhere.
