Professional Communication: Research Paper
Please help. I'm having difficulty trying to make sense of the assignment. I'm overwhelmed and can't decide on an "issue" or solution, and I'm not sure where the theory comes into play. I need to make sure whatever issue is chosen, will have plenty of scholarly sources. I would greatly appreciate ideas/options for issues, solutions, (the theory associated with them) and other relevant points/subthemes to cover in the paper. I would greatly appreciate any help. Thank you!
Part 1. Getting Started: Give a brief overview of the professional communication problem/issue, or challenge that will be the focus of the research, discussing how it affects individuals/teams/work/professions.
Part 2. Generate 3 possible research questions.
Part 3. Generate an outline for the research paper.
Part 4. The Research Paper:
Identify a contemporary communication problem or issue in organizational, leadership or strategic communication.
Identify an appropriate, client/audience-centered solution to a contemporary communication problem and what it is based on - i.e. data and
knowledge of communication theories relevant to the professional communication field.
Give several examples that can be used in a digital format to convey your solution(s).
THE PAPER MUST:
State the communication problem, identifying how it impacts individuals/teams/work/professions, and summarizing the communication literature that explores the problem.
Structure for the paper:
Introduction: Identify and define the communication problem that will be the focus. Provide a background and rationale for why it was specifically chosen.
Impacts: Summarize any evidence that the chosen problem has impacts on people/teams, or organizations (as appropriate). This section should make it clear to the reader why we need to pay attention to this problem.
Secondary research: Try to divide this section into sub-themes. For example, if the chosen problem was "Providing effective feedback", the subthemes might be "Barriers to giving feedback", "Ineffective feedback content", "Ineffective feedback timing".
