Assignment: Competency: Design an organizational risk management plan.

Scenario: You are the Chief HR Officer for a credit union in the panhandle of Florida. The board recently hired a new President, who conducted a review of current operational plans and procedures. She noted that the credit union does not currently have a documented disaster recovery plan in case of a natural disaster such as a hurricane or flooding. The President instructs you to develop a white paper for the leadership team outlining a disaster recovery plan, including the financial risk to the organization if it is not implemented.

Instructions: Prepare a white paper on a disaster recovery plan that:

• States the goals of the disaster recovery plan.

• Identifies the key personnel who will implement the plan.

• Provides the procedures to be used in disaster recovery.

• Details the procedures to be used to test the disaster recovery plan.

• Demonstrates the financial risk of not having a disaster recovery plan.

• Provides attribution for credible sources used in the white paper.
