Rose is a single mother of 2, working at Golden Circle Media in Johannesburg, South Africa. Rose is not happy with her current employment as operations manager for this social media company. For starters, her manager is unfriendly and not open to listening to inputs from employees. Rose has also hear via office gossip that other employees are allowed unofficial leave and extensions on deadlines, while others, including Rose, are expected to be at the office every day, from 8am to 5pm. Rose also has a bunch of very tight deadlines, but is never granted any extension, even when she asks. In meetings, when Rose tries to report the operational problems she observes, her manager dismissed her and tells her to "work harder". Rose is very dissatisfied with her work environment, but she is also cognisant of the fact that unemployment in South Africa is currently as an all-time high of 32.6%.
