"Ideas often originate from dialogues in which an individual hears about a challenge and recognizes a new path for solving it" (Loeb, 2018). I found this statement very intriguing as it implies that the person who has the idea has some sort of prior communication about what the problem may have been in the first place and figured out a way to solve that problem. Without that "prior knowledge" the individual would have no starting point and thus not be able to spawn the idea in the first place. Does this mean that this individual may have discussed this with an expert in the field who hasn't been able to solve the problem due to their possible closed-mindedness? So, in turn does that mean that the expert was, in fact, necessary to start the juices flowing for the individual to come up with the idea and potential innovation? It definitely turns more into a philosophical conversation at that point and can go on for eternity but definitely something interesting to consider. If you have a few minutes, I found the article cited below tremendously interesting on this concept.
