Aircraft gas turbine operates on a jet-propulsion cycle. It consists of a gas turbine with a propelling nozzle. According to the principle of the Brayton cycle, the air is compressed in the turbine compressor, then mixed with fuel and burned under constant pressure conditions in the combustor. The resulting hot gas is allowed to expand through a turbine to perform work.
