Assessment: Scenario Business Case Creation

Overview

A capstone project for information technology is a practical artefact (proposal, prototype) where you will have to demonstrate the skills and knowledge you have acquired throughout the course. To do so, the subject requires the completion of three interconnected assessments where you will:

- Produce a project business case
- Present the requirements relating to the proposed project
- Create a solution design and a plan for implementing the proposed project

Assessment 1 requires identifying a problem that you can solve by developing an IT solution. The identified problem should relate to your specialisation at SISTC (i.e. Digital Enterprise (DEN) or Business Information Systems (BIS)). Once you identify the problem, you must complete a business case to demonstrate to management why the project should be undertaken (i.e. the benefits that could be derived from delivering the proposed solution). I have included on Moodle a sample business case which will guide you on completing the task.

You will be assessed on the following criteria:
- Relevance of content
- Analysis
- Clarity of Structure
- Writing to the audience
