An ice cream business is experiencing a cash shortage every day at closing. Initially, they were not sure if someone was stealing from them, or if the staff were making mistakes using the cash register (computer).
1. What workplace problem has been identified in the situation above?
2. Which partners would you want to include in the project team?
3. What data/documents would you gather, maximum of three, to perform a needs assessment? Explain why you have selected each document.
4. Identify at least one obstacle to gathering the data/documentation identified above.
5. Detail the performance gap identified through your needs assessment. Note: Assume that training is a solution to the performance gap identified.
6. Create five learning objectives based on the performance gaps identified above. Include at least one learning objective highlighting for each of the three needs:
A cognitive need,
An affective need, and
A psychomotor need.
7. Explain the value of completing the work you have done above (Performing a needs assessment, identifying the performance gap, identifying obstacles and then creating the learning objectives) prior to designing the training curriculum.
