Topic is blood pressure.
Objective: Think of a topic that interests you. A statistic that you've heard or a study you thought to be interesting. This can be either an Experimental or an Observational Study. In this study you're going to collect raw data in which you will use the skills learned in this class to hypothesis and estimate an outcome for the population, based on the information collected from the sample. In most cases you'll need a sample size of at least 30 individuals, to make your outcome valid. The project will contain the following listed below. Additionally you'll be expected to present a 5 minute presentation during the last week of class explaining your study and findings to your classmates. This should include a PowerPoint type presentation and professional attire. At no point in the paper should you use the word "I" or the first person terminology. This is a paper written from all facts and should always be referred to as "The Study...".
Sample Project Outline: These are the required pieces to the paper, however you do not have to have all of these sections individually. Sometimes some of the sections can be written together.
Introduction (1-2 paragraphs)
Review of Literature (1 - 2 pages)
Methodology (1 page or less) - This is what you did, how you conducting the study, where you collected the data, and what was being looked at.
Findings
Discussion/Conclusion (1 page or less)
References (APA style).
Written Report - No grammatical, punctuation,or spelling errors. All sources are listed in APA formatting and the in text citations are done correctly. Paper is easily read and the flow of the material is well put together. Inferential Calculations - Calculations performed correctly and coherently. Calculations justify the statements or hypotheses posed. Descriptive Statistics - Two well designed and properly executed tables/graphs were used. Oral Presentation - Excellent Presentation. Presenter was prepared and presented material is a coherent way.
