Once a criminal always a criminal?
You are a member of a hiring group within the human resources department of a software manufacturer that has several software products that are sold to other organizations and annual revenue in excesses of $500 million.
The manager of software development has forwarded an email from a reformed black hat hacker about the availability of a position to test and identify vulnerabilities in your software products. The reasoning is that the reformed black hat hacker has proven experience at identifying vulnerabilities and this will give your firm a head start on developing patches to fix the problems before anyone can exploit them. You're not sure, and feel uneasy about hiring people with possible connections to unsavory members of the hacker/cracker community.
