I want to stress that the manager who is being employed was an Irish airline manager who has been employed to work as a Manager of a major airline(Qantas Airways)organisation that has its headquarters in Melbourne, Australia.
HR Manager has to report to the CEO with a view on the types of issues that will confront the new Manager of a major Australian airline. Of course, some of these issues may be similar for all new Managers working in Australia quite irrespective of whether or not they are working in the airline industry, whilst others may apply specifically to a manager with experience of working in an Irish airline who is transferred to an Australian airline.
In simple terms I want you to write in report format what amounts to a background briefing paper for the Chief Executive Officer with respect to the employment of an Irish airline manager who has been employed to work as a Manager of a major airline organisation that has its headquarters in Melbourne, Australia.
The better report will be heavily informed by what it will be like for this particular Manager to work in the Australian employment relations system. In this respect, please pay attention to the main features of the Australian system (employment laws, role of unions, employers and the government).
Of course, cultural issues remain important, but the main emphasis of your report should be on working for an Australian based airline at the present time.
