Human Resource Management is the root of the connection with employees, whether it is creating position descriptions, hiring, training, or developing. Social media are websites and applications that allow families, businesses, workers to share content and participate in social networking. Social media has been growing rapidly through all forms and in various places. It is the new form of communication and way that news is being spread out. Also, because many people are constantly attached to their phones they are viewing these websites and applications very frequently. As social media has its pros, it also has its cons when it comes to the employee’s side mostly.
The benefit of social media is that human resource management can go to it for a reference or ideas in recruiting, training, and examples of work. It is also their way of making the connection more accessible to both themselves and their employees. Social media makes the process of everything a lot faster then individual paper work to be done. Messages spread out in just one submit button, whether it is through Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Indeed, Monster, ZipRecruiter, and LinkedIn. These social media platforms have made it easier for the human resource management to receive applications and have everything in under one screen. It also, allows them to be aware of what is going on and where to aim their hiring towards.
Additionally, the human resource management having access to social media allows them to view their employees profile, which is something most jobs ask for in applications. Also, having access to the various job hiring websites allows their company to have a variety of employees to choose from. Another important social media that is their go to is LinkedIn, which is like a pre interview I see it as. It shows and has everything about an employee from their photo, background, skills, work experience, connections, cover letter, resume, so much that is extremely useful to them in their recruiting process. The impact that social media has on the human resource management is greater then anything because it is a convenience.
Jobs go to social media when it comes to job hiring post, events, hour changes, or important information in general. It also allows people to communicate or get information faster about a position through social media, rather then having to wait for an in person appointment Social media has the human resource management ahead of the game and allows them to move at the same pace rather then staying behind. For instance, in most of these social media platforms like Facebook being an example private groups can be created. Therefore, once the employee is in that can be used as a form of communication, support system, reminders, events, or specific information. Also, it is a way they receive reviews which can be a good or bad depending on how the company or business is doing.
Moreover, it also helps in promoting their work or events. It can drive future employees in because of what is shown through these social media platforms. It is also where a lot of the training and on boarding is done as well through the videos and questionnaires. As the time passes generations continue to adopt more to social media which only gives the human resource management the alternative to have a greater connection with it since it is turning into their foundation of their work.
