It takes exactly 8 hours to extrude a batch, after which the batch is cured for exactly 3 hours in an oven and is then ready for immediate shipment. There is only one extruder and only one oven (which holds only one batch), each of which operates 24 hours per day, 7 days per week. Hudsucker only makes a batch of hoops after receiving a retailer’s order for that batch; orders arrive randomly and every order is for exactly one batch.
