2. Covering Letter

-Find a real job vacancy in an industry where you would like to work.

-For how to research a company

-1 side long

-In the Covering Letter you need to demonstrate strong integration between your CV and the job vacancy i.e. why you should be offered an interview

3. Industry Awareness slides

Use the Industry that your job application was aimed at in 1. & 2.

-5 slides, 500 words maximum

-NO notes to the slides as they will not be marked

-Suggested slides are as follows:

1. Define the industry (not too broad, not too narrow)

2. Apply an Industry Life Cycle or Porters 5 Forces analysis (to the industry, not a product life cycle) i.e. what stage is the industry at and why?

3. Apply an Ansoff matrix analysis to identify what options companies have in this industry for the future

4. Identify how your skillset is appropriate for a position in this industry

5. References / Acknowledgements (not included in word count)

4. Essay

Choose a topic and discuss how you have developed throughout the course.

The topic of your choice should be in one of the following two areas:

1. Personal Development, OR

2. Employability Skill Development.
