The purpose of this type of writing is to convince a large audience the importance of the research you'll be presenting, and you're starting a larger conversation on why this matters. So, that goes without saying: have a topic that you care about and want to talk about

Think about how you're going to address this theme, and convince an 'event panel' why your project is relevant and exciting for this theme. Remember to say what your project will do not just what it is about.
