Question 1. In a remote village, malaria is a major cause of morbidity among pregnant women. Researchers want to evaluate the effect of a new malaria treatment among pregnant women. It will involve randomizing the pregnant women to receive either the current standard treatment or the new treatment. They are told that they must obtain informed consent from the village leader in order to proceed with the study. They are also told that the women's partners must agree to their participation.
