Question 1: Read the assessment instructions

Just as you have been applying the concepts discussed in this course throughout the Bridge-In and Bridge-Out Online Discussions, you will be required to complete a concise analysis to create a client case plan for Will in the movie, Good Will Hunting. This project is intended to be an opportunity for you to practice applying the Skilled Helper Model discussed. Note: the inside cover of our Textbook contains The Skilled Helper Model. Students are encouraged to use this Model as a guide while working on this Assignment. Textbook content (i.e., terms, concepts, scenarios, and/or examples), in addition to Canvas course content are to be used in this assessment. Do not include mere definitions, and ensure you cite your sources (i.e., the textbook).

Once you have reviewed the movie, prepare a paper that includes the following headings with your analysis:

Introduction
This should include a 1-2 paragraph overview of the movie that includes the names of the characters, their roles and the events within the story line that ‘make the movie,' your role (as a helper) with Will, and how you would approach being his Skilled Helper.

Step I-A: Stories (throughout our textbook, and highlighted in Chapter 9). How would you help your client tell his stories, share his points of view, explore his decisions, and clarify what he intends to do together with the emotions involved? Explain your response in 2-4 paragraphs.

Step I-B: Blind Spots (throughout our textbook, and highlighted in Chapter 7 and Chapter 9). How would you help your client identify and move beyond blind spots to new perspectives that will help him manage his problem situations and opportunities more effectively? Explain your response in 2-4 paragraphs.

Step I-C: Leverage (throughout our textbook, and highlighted in Chapter 9). How would you help your client choose to work on issues that will most likely make a difference in his life? Using what you have learned from the Force Field Analysis Activity, integrate how what Will discovers in that process with how you can help him to choose what will most likely make a difference for him. Provide a 2-4 paragraph summary of what this integration would look like in a clinical setting.

Empathic Presence and Empathic Highlights (throughout our textbook). Provide an overview, in 2-4 paragraphs that explains how you would engage in using both empathic presence and empathic highlights as opportunities to connect with your client, Will.
Conclusion. Wrap up your Client Case Plan with a 1-2 paragraph summary of the next steps for Will, and how you will work with Will to evaluate his goals.

This paper should be a minimum of 6 pages, and a maximum of 8 pages, excluding the title page and references page.

Do not use outside movie-related sources; for example, Internet sources, websites (such as IMDb), descriptions, and/or critiques/evaluations of this movie, plots, characters, and/or scenes. This assessment is not a movie evaluation. Remember, you are the helper.
