The Executive Director of Youthworks, a large nonprofit organization, is facing an ethical dilemma. The organization recently received a significant grant in order to build a new facility. A major construction contract opportunity has been put out for bids by Youthworks. One of the board members for Youthworks is a potential contractor. This Board member indicated to the Executive Director that they will submit a bid that is substantially lower than other competing bids. What should the Executive Director do now?
