Case Study: It is the performance appraisal time for Pegasus Logistics Company. Employees have complained that their managers either do not conduct good appraisals with them at all, or conduct it in an inconsistent way. The company has also had problems with several managers who either failed to finish appraisals of their employees, failed to distinguish among employees in any meaningful way, or failed to evaluate the appropriate information. The company has tasked you to improve its appraisal program and to train the managers on the benefits and techniques of executing good performance management programs. In particular, top management wants you to help the company better align the performance management system to enable the company to achieve one of its strategic goals - On-time delivery guaranteed.
