Homework
Overview
The Consulting Project is an opportunity for you to develop and demonstrate the skills required to be an effective consultant. Your Consulting Project paper will be organized into these four elements:
A. Problem Identification: In Milestone One, you will identify a problem a client needs a consultant to solve.
B. Proposal: In Milestone Two, you will write a proposal in response to a request for proposal (RFP) you choose.
C. Project Plan: In Milestone Three, you will write a project plan detailing how you will fulfill the requirements of the RFP and project proposal you wrote about in Milestone Two.
D. Reflection: Reflect on the process of creating the parts of your Consulting Project.
The Consulting Project represents an authentic demonstration of competency because it requires students to apply consulting skills to solve real-world problems. The Consulting Project is divided into three milestones and a final submission. The milestones will be submitted at various points throughout the course to scaffold learning and ensure quality final submissions. These milestones will be submitted in Modules Three, Four, and Five. The complete Consulting Project paper, including the reflection, will reference resources discussed throughout this course and be submitted in Module Seven.
In this homework, you will demonstrate your mastery of the following course outcomes:
A. Understand the various forms of consulting
B. Maximize a managers' impact on a large organization through the proper use of consulting activities and consultants
C. Understand the contracting, discovery, and engagement phases of any consulting project
