Assignment: The Impact of Instructor Absence on Education Script
Write the text as if you are speaking it, and add notes indicating where visuals will go.
Here is the description of the Presentation Video Assignment to help you stay on track with your script:
1) Your audience is your BIPS faculty and peers, and you are providing an explanation of your project for this audience.
2) You should incorporate how your BIPS core courses have helped you develop this project because the speech is a 4-6 minute requirement, you may not be able to talk about all of your core classes but you should include at least 3 that have impacted your process.
a) Script Content: The content of your script should contribute to viewers' understanding of your project, not your topic.
i) First, you should introduce yourself and your project as well as why you choose this project for your capstone.
ii) Then, you will need to thoroughly describe and explain your project in a clear and concise manner.
iii) Next, you will need to discuss how you used real-world, human-centered problems AND the IPS core courses to develop your project.
iv) Finally, you will share how you are currently implementing your project or when implementation is scheduled to start.
o Many projects are affected by COVID-19 and its various impacts so provide as much information as possible if your project implementation is not possible within the timeframe of this course.
3) You must include visuals in this presentation and use software that allows for you to do this professionally (Canvas Studio, PowerPoint, Screencast O Matic, etc.) This course will provide you with multiple ways to prepare your presentation and you will also have access to the Digital Acts Studio (DACTS) to help with the technical questions you may have.It is important to note that a presentation with you holding up hard copy visuals while you speak will not be accepted. You will need to incorporate your visuals using the technology you have available to you.
4) Your visuals can include the research visualizations you created in this course or other visuals that you feel enhance the presentation.
