Question: Look over the 8 texts we've read in this unit on gender and consider stylistic choices that you LIKED and that you might want to emulate in your own writing. The texts are "Girl," "Sensitive Guys," "Becoming Members of Society," "How Boys Become Men," "A Call to Men," "In Africa Men Hold Hands," "We Should All Be Feminists," and "The Name is Mine."

1. Tell us THREE specific stylistic features in any of these texts that you liked. (You can focus entirely on one text or look at a few different texts.) Maybe it was a catchy introduction, or some really fancy sentences, or a good sense of humor, or impressive vocabulary. Maybe it was convincing detail, or solid facts, or a poignant use of pathos. Maybe it was the way they built up tension, or the way they made you feel like you were listening to a real person. You can choose any three things that you liked.
2. For each of your three examples of something you liked, tell us the text it came from, and tell us what you liked about it. In other words, explain why did you liked it. What effect did that stylistic choice have on you as a reader?
3. Finally, tell us how you think you might try to emulate this in your own essay. What will you do when you write your essay to imitate their stylistic choices to make them your own?
