Assignment:
Intersections of identity are welcome and encouraged. Voices in the form of writing by academic males, and/or white males are discouraged for obvious reasons. These are the dominant voice of CYC Practice. If a voice interests a student because of its intersectionality, then consider, and make a cast for it. Intersections of practice are also encouraged - consider the arts, environment, community work. Intersections of voice and practice are ideal.
1. Connect the who, where, what of these voices and comment on why these voices are either under-represented or NOT represented in past and current CYC Practice & Identity. This should go beyond a list, or one statement. ("I think this voice should be heard in CYC practice because they are Black, or because their work is good, or because they work with lots of kids" ... these examples are simply obvious. Try to go deeper and situate these voices by connecting their identity, and their work to course material and themes.
2. Make a case for why and how you think each voice is a voice in CYC practice - connect the dots to what CYC Practice Identity is for you as you are learning about it in this course. Go beyond traditional models of treatment, relational practice, and helping.
