Problem

It's logical to think that you see whenever your eyes are open. However, the reality is that attention plays a major role in visual perception.

One of the primary reasons why you may fail to notice things like obvious bloopers in movies, for example, is a psychological phenomenon known as inattentional blindness. When you focus hard on one thing, such as the actions of the main character in a film, you might not notice unexpected things entering your visual field. Here's another attention test. Watch the video and see what you "see".
