Case Study: According to Kotter, there are seven important steps to overcoming resistance to change: (1) develop a positive trust climate for change, (2) plan the change, (3) clearly state why the change is needed and how it will affect employees, (4) have a win-win situation, (5) involve employees, (6) provide support and evaluation, (7) and have urgency. (Kotter, 2015). You are the manager of a team of IT specialists.

You were just told that a major change is being implemented in the way your team will do business starting in the next quarter. The change will require a steep learning curve and you, along with several older team members and veteran employees, anticipate some major resistance from these older employees who have previously argued, "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" for some other projects.
