Sperm contain cytosolic proteins that can induce oocyte activation when injected into the egg cytoplasm. Suppose your laboratory purified four proteins from sperm, each of which appears sufficient to your hypothesis that only one of these proteins is also necessary for activate the slow block to polyspermy in oocytes. How would you test oocyte slow block at fertilization? Design one or more experiments to test your hypothesis. Explain HOW your experiment tests the hypothesis and what kind of result would support your hypothesis, and reciprocally, alternative results that do not support your hypothesis.
