Question Description - A client who is dually diagnosed (ex: bipolar disorder and substance dependence) has a history of doing well when taking his/her medication, but on several occasions has stopped taking medications resulting in life problems. The client also struggles with periods of abstinence from alcohol and drug use followed by relapse.

This client is back on medication and doing well and is also 90 days sober. S/he confides in you that s/he is going to stop taking the medication because "I want to be totally drug-free".
