Students respond to a series of scenarios using an action plan that considers professional, ethical, and Christian perspectives.
For Ethical Responses Assessment please utilize the information below.
You oversee an early learning service as its leader or designated supervisor.
I. Select five of the scenarios below, and for each, create an action plan that takes Christian, ethical, and professional viewpoints into account. Refer to the UN Rights of the Child, the Code of Ethics, the Regulations, the NQF and NQS, and the concepts of Being, Belonging, and Becoming.
II. A practicum student in your service has approached you with an issue. They saw a teacher leaning over a student, scolding them for their actions and putting a finger in their face. How would you respond?
III. The teacher accidentally left a student's lunch on the ground during lunchtime, then picked it up, gave it to the child, and allowed them to eat it. How would you respond?
IV. You watch while a different teacher changes a baby's diaper and pulls the youngster over to a faucet to wash them. The kid slashes their skull after hitting it. How would you respond?
V. As the room leader for the 3-5-year olds, you see that in addition to their allotted lunch breaks, the centre director and three other educators leave the building at least 2-4 times a day for cigarette breaks. The three educators are constants and can be absent for up to half an hour at a time. How would you respond?
