Imagine that you are a proud Ukrainian farmer. You love your country and are very happy with your life. Even though you are considered to be a "peasant," you have enough money to own land and to grow and sell your own crops, providing a stable life for your family. Then one day, you get word that a man named Stalin is now in charge. Under his rule, you are no longer considered to be "Ukrainian" but are now considered to be a citizen of the USSR. Lenin has also declared that you no longer own your land, but that your land, and the crops you grow, now belong to the government. How would you react in this situation?
