Description - Presentation to Influence/Teach Community Regarding At-Risk Populations
In the first week, you selected an at-risk population upon which your final project would be based. You began to learn about this population by looking at epidemiological data from the community regarding this population. You are to prepare a PowerPoint presentation designed to influence/teach members of your community about this at-risk population's issue. It will be informational (about the health needs of this population) and will be aimed at influencing/teaching community members that a collaborative initiative is needed to address a certain health-related need of this population.
The PowerPoint presentation should contain the speaker's notes. You should have at least 15 slides that are bulleted and follow the 6 x 6 (no more than 6 bullets to a slide and no more than 6 words to a bullet).
Include - Epidemiology/statistics of your population. You should look back one, five, and ten years to look at trends. Is progress being made? You should compare the data from your population to that of the general community or a neighboring community. Do you see any disparities? You should compare the data from your population to the Healthy People 2020 goals. Is it probable that the HP 2020 goals will be met?
