She has had a fever of 100 to 102.1 during this time as well. The mother reports that her daughter has also been very fussy, and she had to keep her home from day care today where she normally attends five days a week. The mother tells you that she has heard that a few other children have recently had similar symptoms. Objective findings include the following notations: Temperature of 101.9, the child appears pale, and mucus membranes are slightly dry.
