Will, age 29, is on the IT staff at a large corporation. His job pays quite well but he finds the work neither challenging nor particularly interesting. Will's highly active social life includes friends from work with whom he goes out to clubs and concerts as well as some longer-term close friends with whom he attends professional athletic events, one of his passions. He dates casually but says he is nowhere near ready to settle down and may never be. Will decided to seek counseling after he found himself having trouble paying his bills despite having an excellent salary and no debts. He had no problem identifying the reason his bank account was empty: Will gambles, mostly on professional athletics but also during weekend trips to nearby casinos, where he enjoys high-stakes poker. Because his father's gambling played a major role in the breakup of his parent's marriage, Will decided to do something before it was too late.
